October 2017-Starfish Making Waves

Starfish Making Waves

This month most children have one thing on their minds, candy!  We as adults may also be thinking of sweets and parties, but the month of October carries with it a lot of disability/disorder awareness events.  For example, October is “Global ADHD and Diversity Awareness Month.”  It is also National Disability Employment Awareness Month.  Employment for adults with disabilities is very important to Starfish Savers.  For more information and resources about employment, feel free to visit https://www.dol.gov/odep/topics/ndeam/index-2014.htm using this link!

The Team Tidepool

In this newsletter we asked our staff a burning question on everyone’s minds, “what is your favorite candy?”

-Larrie Ellen Randall, our wonderful CEO, had trouble making a decision but finally decided on Dark Chocolate Truffles.

-Our lovely Director of Transition and Community Client Services, Catherine Noga, has a passion for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

-Our Director of Operations, Irene Moore, shares in the passion for Reese’s.

-Our Director of Career Counseling and Employment Services, Dr. Kari LaBell, enjoys fudge when she can get the good kind.

-Specialist Francesca Rand indulges in a little dark chocolate once in a while.

-Specialist Luke Delaney has a secret love for Snickers.

-The Marketing and Author of this letter, Jeana Adams, has one weakness in her impenetrable defense, candy corn.

Have a safe and fun time out there, candy junkies!  We hope you enjoy October as much as we will!
